Melania Trump’s ‘cold’ behaviour towards Usha Vance decoded by Body Language expert
A body language expert has weighed in on what viewers called a “cold” exchange between Melania Trump and Usha Vance at the 113th annual First Lady’s Luncheon, held at the Washington Hilton on April 23.
The event focused on programs supporting children and young people, but clips of the two women quickly spread online. Usha Vance introduced Melania, praising her career as a model, entrepreneur, author, and film producer. When Melania stepped to the podium, Vance politely helped turn a page of her notes, and Melania quietly thanked her.
However, expert Judi James noted there was no hug, handshake, or clear eye contact between them. She suggested the moment may have appeared distant, but could simply reflect a formal, professional tone.
James said Melania has recently shown a more businesslike demeanor, possibly choosing seriousness over warmth. During her speech, Melania highlighted children’s issues, her “Be Best” campaign, and proposed foster care reforms.
