My MIL Got Caught Snooping in My Closet — I Couldn’t Believe My Fiancé’s Reaction

I came home early from work expecting a quiet afternoon with my fiancé. Instead, I walked into my bedroom and found my future mother-in-law digging through my closet.
Not organizing the hallway closet.
Not dropping something off.
My actual bedroom closet.
She jumped when she saw me and casually said she was “checking to make sure I had enough hangers.”
I honestly thought I misheard her.
When I confronted my fiancé later, he shrugged and admitted his mom has a key to our house. Apparently, she comes by whenever she wants because she “helps out sometimes.”
Helps out?
Since when is going through someone’s personal belongings considered helping?
I told him this crossed a huge line and asked him to take the key back. Instead of understanding why I was upset, he acted like I was being dramatic and controlling.
Meanwhile, his mother hasn’t apologized once. She actually told me I should feel “grateful” that she cares enough to tidy up after us.
The craziest part is that nobody in this family seems to understand why I feel violated.
I pay bills here. I clean, cook, decorate, and treat this place like my home too.
But suddenly I’m the unreasonable one because I don’t want my future MIL wandering through my bedroom whenever she feels like it?
At this point, I’m wondering if the real problem isn’t the key.
It’s the fact that my fiancé sees absolutely nothing wrong with it.
