When I said he was hurting me, she laughed it off: <em data-start=\"513\" data-end=\"535\">\u201cHe\u2019s just excited.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"537\" data-end=\"644\">Then she leaned over me and said, smirking, <em data-start=\"581\" data-end=\"644\">\u201cWhy don\u2019t you switch now? You can\u2019t be that selfish, right?\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"646\" data-end=\"716\">That\u2019s when I realized this wasn\u2019t about kindness. It was entitlement.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"718\" data-end=\"734\">I said no again.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"736\" data-end=\"958\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">By the end of the flight, my arm was bruised and I was exhausted, frustrated, and shaken. I kept wondering\u2014where does empathy end, and where does tolerating disrespect begin? I paid for my seat.
