My children lived far away, my friends had busy lives, and most visiting hours passed without anyone familiar walking through the door. The days were slow, filled with the steady hum of machines and the quiet footsteps of nurses changing shifts.<\/p>\n

But every night, one nurse stood out.<\/p>\n

He spoke softly, checking on me when the floor grew quiet. His words were simple but comforting\u2014reminders to stay hopeful, to rest, and to believe that I would recover. Those small conversations became the brightest part of my nights. In a place that felt cold and unfamiliar, he made me feel seen.<\/p>\n

When I was finally discharged, I stopped by the front desk to ask how I could thank him.<\/p>\n
