When my father divided our inheritance, my brother got the family home while I was left with my grandfather\u2019s old cabin. He mocked me, saying I got nothing but memories and rot. At the time, it felt true.<\/p>\n

Growing up, my brother was the favorite\u2014the athlete who made Dad proud. I was the quiet one who spent weekends in that cabin with Grandpa, listening to stories and feeling, for once, fully seen. When Grandpa passed, that place became my last connection to him.<\/p>\n

Years later, I finally returned. The cabin was falling apart, abandoned and forgotten\u2014until I stepped inside and found the floor had collapsed, revealing a hidden cellar. Inside were carefully stored documents, maps, and a letter addressed to me.<\/p>\n
