For three years, I cared for my elderly neighbor, Mrs. Whitmore, after noticing her mail piling up untouched in her mailbox. What started as helping her sort bills turned into daily visits, grocery runs, medication pickups, and countless evenings spent drinking tea together on her porch. She became like family to me, and for the first time since losing my daughter and my marriage, I no longer felt alone.<\/p>\n
