I was sitting in an airport terminal at 2 a.m. with my six-month-old son when I heard a weak cry coming from the bathroom. Inside a stall, wrapped in a gray sweater on the cold tile floor, was a newborn baby girl\u2014completely alone.<\/p>\n

No diaper bag. No note. No mother in sight.<\/p>\n

I immediately called 911, held the baby close, and when I realized she was freezing and hungry, I fed her myself until paramedics arrived. They told me I had saved her life.<\/p>\n

The next morning, my former mother-in-law showed up at my door and told me to come with her immediately. She drove me to the last place I ever wanted to see again\u2014my ex-husband Jason\u2019s house.<\/p>\n
