When the school called about strange men asking for my daughter, I thought I was about to lose something else. Instead, I found something I never expected.<\/p>\n

The night before, my daughter Letty had cut off her own hair\u2014to help a classmate with cancer who was being bullied. She wanted to donate it for a wig.<\/p>\n

The next day, six men showed up at her school asking for her by name. They were my late husband\u2019s coworkers.<\/p>\n

Inside the office, I saw my daughter standing beside her classmate\u2014now wearing the wig. On the desk sat my husband\u2019s old hard hat.<\/p>\n
