My wife passed away in 2022, leaving behind three adult children I helped raise for over a decade\u2014yet they\u2019ve always made it clear I\u2019m not their parent.<\/p>\n

After she died, things changed. They stopped contributing entirely\u2014no chores, no effort\u2014while I covered all utilities, food, and even hired a cleaner. Two of them work, one is still in school, and none paid rent.<\/p>\n

So I made a decision.<\/p>\n

I sold the house. The market was high, and it gave me a chance to move on. I gave each of them $10,000 and told them it was time to figure things out.<\/p>\n
