I was sitting there holding my newborn, exhausted, sore, and barely functioning from lack of sleep.<\/p>\n
Inside the box was a gym membership.<\/p>\n
Then she looked me up and down and said, \u201cThis should help you bounce back.\u201d<\/p>\n
The entire room went silent.<\/p>\n
I felt completely humiliated. Not because of the gym itself, but because of the message behind it. I was only weeks postpartum, still healing physically and emotionally, and instead of support, I was being publicly reminded that my body apparently wasn\u2019t acceptable enough for her.<\/p>\n
Later, I told her privately that her gift and comments had hurt me deeply.<\/p>\n
