Three years ago, I buried one of my twin daughters after a sudden case of meningitis.<\/p>\n

On Lily\u2019s very first day of first grade, her teacher smiled warmly and said:<\/p>\n

\u201cBoth your girls are doing really well today.\u201d<\/p>\n

I froze.<\/p>\n

I explained that Lily\u2019s twin sister, Ava, had died years earlier. But the teacher looked confused and said there was another little girl in school who looked exactly like Lily.<\/p>\n

Then she pointed across the classroom.<\/p>\n

The moment I saw that child, my world tilted.<\/p>\n

Same curls. Same smile. Same laugh.<\/p>\n
