Six months after my husband, Officer Richard, passed away, our daughter Mia received a flyer for the school\u2019s father-daughter dance. She immediately said she wasn\u2019t going.<\/p>\n
Every year, Richard brought her pink carnations and treated the night like a special date. Without him, she feared the other kids would laugh at her.<\/p>\n
