In December 2005, Belle (Isabelle) and Abby Carlsen entered the world joined at the chest and abdomen, sharing several vital organs and facing serious health challenges.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"294\" data-end=\"523\">After months of careful planning, a team of 17 surgeons performed a complex separation surgery on May 12, 2006. The operation successfully separated the twins, and just two weeks later, they returned home as independent children.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"525\" data-end=\"787\">As they grew older, Belle and Abby thrived. By age 10, they were active in gymnastics, excelled in school, and were known for their friendly, outgoing personalities. Despite their extraordinary beginning, they remember little about their time as conjoined twins.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"789\" data-end=\"1071\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">Today, Belle and Abby live healthy, independent lives. They wear necklaces engraved with \u201cOne in a million\u201d to honor their unique journey.
