Police are urging everyone to stay away from this area

Panic erupted Thursday morning at Corewell Health Beaumont Troy Hospital near Detroit after an active shooter incident triggered an emergency lockdown across the medical campus.
According to authorities, the shooting happened around 7:08 a.m. in the hospital’s parking garage. Investigators later confirmed that the suspect was an employee who targeted a 25-year-old coworker during the attack. The victim was shot twice in the arm and rushed to the hospital’s emergency department for immediate treatment.
Despite the frightening situation, hospital officials reported that the victim is in stable condition and expected to recover. Law enforcement responded quickly, secured the area, and apprehended the suspect without further violence.
The incident caused major disruption throughout the hospital as patients, staff, and visitors were temporarily placed under lockdown while authorities searched the area and ensured there were no additional threats.
The motive behind the shooting has not yet been publicly released, and investigators continue examining what led to the workplace violence.
The event has sparked renewed concerns about safety in healthcare environments, where medical workers already face high-pressure conditions daily. Hospital officials say security procedures are now under review as the facility works to strengthen protections for staff, patients, and visitors following the disturbing incident.
