My Husband Constantly Mocked Me for Doing Nothing, Then He Found My Note After the ER Took Me Away

For years, I managed our home and raised our two boys while enduring my husband Tyler’s constant belittling. At 36, I lived the “American dream” in our cozy apartment, but Tyler’s sharp words made me feel worthless. He’d criticize me over trivial things, like his “lucky shirt” not being ready, dismissing my efforts.

One Tuesday, feeling dizzy and nauseous, I collapsed in the kitchen. My son Ethan ran for help, and our neighbor Kelsey called 911. I was pregnant and seriously ill, but Tyler, unaware, came home to chaos and a note I’d scrawled: “I want a divorce.” He rushed to the hospital, shaken by missed calls and my condition.

In the hospital, Tyler faced his cruelty. He stepped up, caring for our boys, cooking, and cleaning while I recovered. He attended prenatal appointments and wept when we learned we were having a girl. When she was born, he cut the cord, showing a glimpse of the man I once loved.

Despite his therapy and efforts, I filed for divorce. Tyler didn’t fight it, accepting his fault. He remains present for our kids, but I’m cautious. When the boys ask if we’ll reunite, I say, “Maybe,” unsure if his change is real but open to healing.
