I Want to Leave My Husband After Discovering Suspicious Behavior

I’m a 29-year-old woman married to my 40-year-old husband for two years. We have a 1-year-old son and hired a babysitter, Lucia (20F), through an agency almost a year ago. She’s been wonderful—responsible, caring, and great with our child. My son adores her, and she fit into our family easily.
A few months ago, I started noticing something off between Lucia and my husband. They were texting frequently, and not just about childcare—there were jokes and casual conversations. When I brought it up, my husband brushed it off as harmless, so I let it go.
Last week, I came home early and found them sitting very close. They jumped up awkwardly. That night, my husband admitted he’d been “seeing” her for a while.
It got worse. When I called the agency to report her, they told me my husband had already called earlier that day. He made up a story about her being unreliable, which got her fired. He claims he did it to “protect our family,” but it feels like he was covering his tracks.
Now I’m considering leaving him. I feel deeply betrayed by the two people I trusted most with my child. He says I’m overreacting and that leaving would “destroy our family.”
Am I being dramatic, or is this really as serious as it feels?
