The cruel trial of a millionaire: one coca-cola and an inheritance worth millions

Don Ricardo Alarcón was a self-made millionaire who valued integrity above all else. Lately, he sensed something was wrong with his son Alejandro’s fiancée, Sofía. To everyone else, she seemed perfect—elegant, charming, and confident. Alejandro insisted she loved him, not his money.

Don Ricardo decided to find out who Sofía really was when no one was watching.

The night Alejandro and Sofía celebrated their engagement at an exclusive restaurant, Don Ricardo disguised himself as a waiter. When Sofía arrived in diamonds and designer clothes, she didn’t even glance at him.

Inside, he approached their table and “accidentally” spilled a few drops of soda on her handbag.

Sofía exploded.

She shouted, insulted him, humiliated him in front of everyone, and even threw a can of soda at him. Alejandro stayed silent.

The next morning, Don Ricardo revealed the truth to his son: he had been the waiter.

“A person’s true character is revealed by how they treat those they think are beneath them,” he said.

He warned Alejandro that if he married Sofía, he would be cut out of the inheritance.

Furious, Sofía showed her true colors, shouting that she “didn’t sign up for that.”

Still unsure, Alejandro took her to an orphanage his family supported. There, she brushed off a child who offered her a paper flower.

That was all he needed to see.

The engagement ended—and Don Ricardo finally knew his son had escaped a costly mistake.
