My Husband Constantly Goes on Business Trips for Work – One Day I Followed Him and Found Out the Truth

My husband always said his trips were for work, and I believed him—until something stopped adding up.
Tom and I have been married nearly fifteen years. We have five kids, a noisy house, unpaid laundry, and a life that isn’t perfect but felt solid. Tom was a good husband and an even better father. When he traveled every few weeks, I never questioned it. Trust was never the issue.
Until one day, it was.
I surprised him at his office with the kids after one of his “trips.” He was happy to see us—too happy to be hiding anything. I left smiling… until I ran into an old friend who worked there.
When I mentioned Tom’s frequent work travel, she looked confused. The company had frozen all travel months ago. No trips. No exceptions.
A week later, Tom casually told me he was flying to Boston. That night, after he fell asleep, I checked the calendar, saw the flight—and booked the same one.
I followed him from the airport to a quiet suburban house, where a young woman opened the door and hugged him like he belonged there. My heart shattered. I went home, packed the kids, and left.
When Tom finally tracked me down, the truth came out. The woman was an old friend whose mother was dying. He’d been helping her—lying because he feared how it would look.
It took time, counseling, and painful honesty—but we faced it together. Trust was broken, not love. And slowly, we found our way back.
