Nancy Guthrie updates: SECRET METHODS Bryan Kohberger digital forensics expert who cracked murder case reveals ways Nancy Guthrie abduction is being solved

Investigators are reportedly using advanced digital forensics to solve the kidnapping of Nancy Guthrie, 84, mother of Today Show host Savannah Guthrie. Nancy was abducted from her Arizona home on February 1, and authorities are still searching for a masked suspect seen on doorbell footage.

Heather Barnhart, Senior Director of Forensic Research at Cellebrite, believes digital evidence could be key. Drawing from her experience analyzing phone data in the Bryan Kohberger case, she says investigators may trace emails, IP addresses, AI chat logs, and search histories linked to ransom notes. Subpoenas to platforms like Google or ChatGPT could help identify suspects if specific wording was used.

Kidnappers initially demanded $6 million in Bitcoin but provided no further instructions after the family agreed to pay. While DNA evidence has been recovered, no matches have been found in federal databases.

Authorities, including the FBI and Pima County Sheriff’s Department, continue reviewing surveillance footage and digital traces, confident that even small mistakes could unravel the case.
