No Good Deed Goes Unpunished

After boarding the plane, a woman approached me and asked if her daughter could take the empty seat next to me so they could sit together. They had booked last minute and were separated. Wanting to help, I gave up my seat and moved to hers — a middle seat in the last row.
About an hour into the flight, the same woman came storming back. She demanded that I return the SkyMall catalog from my original seat, claiming it “wasn’t mine anymore.”
I was confused but tried to be polite. I offered her the catalog from my new seat, thinking it would solve the issue. But for some reason, that wasn’t acceptable to her.
Apparently, even after giving up my comfortable seat to help her and her daughter, the catalog was where she drew the line.
