My MIL and Husband’s Sisters Forced Me to Clean Up Alone After Easter Feast—I Agreed, but They Weren’t Ready for My ‘Surprise’

I’ve been married to my husband Carter for three years, and while our life is great, his family has always treated me like… staff.
His mom and sisters love giving “suggestions,” which really means expecting me to do everything. This Easter, they went too far.
They told me to organize a full Easter egg hunt for their kids — clues, decorations, even a bunny — all on my own. Then, two days before, they added one more “small” request: cook a full Easter dinner for 25 people.
No one offered to help.
So I smiled… and made a plan.
Easter came. I cooked everything. Served everyone. Listened to complaints about the food. Watched them trash my house. And right on cue, they sat down afterward and told me to clean it all up.
That’s when I made my move.
I announced a special “Golden Egg Challenge” for the kids — with a big prize. They ran outside, found the egg, and gathered excitedly.
Inside the egg?
A note: “Your family wins the grand prize — cleaning up the entire Easter mess!”
Silence.
Then chaos.
But the kids loved it — chanting “CLEAN UP!” while their parents stood there, stunned.
In the end, they had no choice. They cleaned everything.
And for the first time… I think they finally understood.
