My Future MIL and Her Friends Ate Our $1000 Wedding Cake — So I Taught Her a Lesson She’ll Never Forget

I always knew my future mother-in-law, Linda, didn’t like me. She tolerated me because Alex loved me, but she made it clear I wasn’t the woman she wanted him to marry.
The day before our wedding, our handmade $1,000 lemon raspberry cake was delivered to her house since it was closer to the venue. That evening, I returned from errands to find the dining table covered in crumbs — and the cake box wide open and completely empty.
Linda and her friends were sitting comfortably, sipping tea.
“We ate it,” she said casually. “It looked good.”
I was stunned. That was our wedding cake for the next day. When I asked her to help pay for a replacement, she refused, mocking how expensive it was. I left in tears — but with a plan.
At 5 a.m., I called the bakery and arranged a special delivery.
The wedding ceremony went beautifully, but at the reception, there was no cake stand. Linda loudly asked if the bakery had forgotten the cake. I smiled and said it was on its way — especially for her.
Moments later, a cart rolled in carrying thirty cheap grocery store sheet cakes, each labeled $7.99.
I took the mic and explained our original cake had been eaten — so I ordered more for those responsible.
Linda was mortified.
Later, she apologized.
And she never tried to sabotage anything again.
