My Dad Gave My Inheritance to My Brother, I Can’t Even Afford Childcare

I’m a working mom dealing with constant financial stress—bills, kids, daycare, and a marriage that isn’t a safety net. For 12 years, I paid most of my parents’ expenses—electricity, medical bills, groceries—without ever keeping score. My brother helped occasionally but was mostly given a pass.
Recently, my dad brought up inheritance. I assumed it would be split fairly, but he told me everything would go to my brother. When I questioned it, he said, “Your husband will take care of you.” That hit hard—like my years of support meant nothing.
The truth is, my husband and I aren’t on great terms, and I support myself. Even if we were fine, why should that matter?
I later found out my dad had already started transferring assets to my brother before even discussing it with me, calling it “family tradition.” My mom tried to convince me it’s normal and that I’m overreacting.
Now I feel invisible—like all my sacrifices were erased. My brother, who has fewer responsibilities and contributed far less, gets everything just for being the son.
Am I wrong for feeling hurt and standing my ground?
